There were 25 tern nests today, Geoff, plus a pair still thinking about it. Six at least of those had chicks.
I think that's a record for GM and it's probably the biggest inland colony in the NW.

i have it on good authority that there are 20 common tern nests on horrocks flash but i can only find 15,the others must be hidden between the b.h.gulls that are consistantly arguing over chicks and territory,the starling roost at bryn marsh is quite a sight ,not yet a carling momment but they have started to 'reel' (someone will put the proper name on it)but i.m at at loss on the numbers is it 500+, 1k,lots, or a pylon full of em
