A quick look this am produced exactly the same birds as yesterday, 4 Ringed Plover and a single Dunlin, plus about a dozen juv moulting onto 1st winter Black Headed Gulls and a few Swift feeding over the pools
Well my first visit to Little Woolden Moss wasn't quite as successful as I'd hoped! Absoultely blowing a hooley and chucking down with rain, which stopped me going too far.
Zero waders seen at all, but then there wasn't a huge amount of anything. Most probably hunkered down somewhere.
However in between the shorts rain breaks there were a few birds:
Seems like many waders had cleared out. 1 Common Sandpiper 1 Green Sandpiper 1 Dunlin 3 Ringed Plover 1 Wheatear 1 Sparrowhawk 1 Kestrel 1 Buzzard 1 Gadwall 1 Tufted Duck c350 Canada Geese 3 Moorhen- 1 adult & 2 full grown young 1 Skylark 30+ Swift 9 Lesser Black-backed Gull flew in and settled on the pools- 2 adult and 7 young. The young birds pestering the adults for food.
The only things to add to below are at least two green sandpiper; three birds seen overhead, but only two positively Id'd, the third probably the same, but not confirmed. A couple of other sightings of single birds in flight, too. Also a couple of teal, a willow tit and at least two chiffchaff in with a nice sized (predominantly juvenile) willow warbler flock.
The plovers and dunlin also found, and the wood sandpiper gave good, prolonged views.
