Late post for yesterday,Little Woolden Moss...11:00 till  14:00.

12 White Wagtails

7 Pied Wagtails

4 Yellow Wagtails (3 of which were in the ploughed field immediately behind Four Lane Ends Farm)

10 Wheatears(again the majority were in the field as above)

2 Ringed Plovers

2 Curlews

The only hirundines seen were 3 Swallows ,which quickly passed through.

Willow Warblers were singing everywhere,would estimate in excess of 30 birds.Strangely no Chiffchaff heard.

Only raptor seen was one Kestrel.

                Barton Moss (the forgotten lands) - 1300-1600

F49 newly ploughed field behind Boysnope G.C. was very productive today.

3 male Yellow Wagtails, two having a constant aerial battle.

4 Snipe flushed, 3 pairs of Skylarks, Lapwings & Stock Doves + Swallow over .

F55/98  Skylarks ~ 7 pairs, Lapwings ~ 8 pairs, + pair of Ringed Plovers & Yellowhammers.

F8  Pair of Redshanks, ~ 10 pairs of breeding Lapwings with ploughing imminent + ~ 5 pairs of Skylarks.

F9 Pair of Kestrels & Buzzards + Mallard on 8 eggs.

Completely timed my visit wrong! Got caught out by a heavy squally shower and strong cold wind making viewing difficult and made for a shortened visit.
