Little Woolden Moss 16.30-17.00 Completely timed my visit wrong! Got caught out by a heavy squally shower and strong cold wind making viewing difficult and made for a shortened visit.

In addition to the below at Little Wooldon Moss, prior to 9am with Simon Johnson, 27 White Wagtails, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 5 Ringed Plover, 8 Teal, 1 Greylag Goose and 19 Willow Warblers.
Walk along Astley Road from M62 Motorway Bridge - as far as Twelve Yards Road - and around Little Woolden Moss

9 Oystercatchers - easily a site record for me 1 Curlew 7 Snipe 5 Teal 1 Kestrel - went into Peregrine-like stoop dive briefly before pulling out and began hovering. 1 Chiffchaff
Birds at Little Woolden Moss between 11:30 and about 13:15 included female Merlin, 6 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 2 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 6 Curlew, 2 Wheatear, 3 Willow Warbler and 4 Sand Martin

Several Lapwings displaying in fields surrounding the moss.
Little Woolden Moss today, 0840-1145...1 Immature Male Marsh Harrier which hunted then moved east...4 Dunlin....4 Sand Martin...2 Curlew...2 Little Ringed Plover...2 Redshank...2...Siskin...5 Snipe...and 55 Linnet.
Little Woolden Moss today, 07:30 - 09:45...4 Curlew..2 Redshank..2 Little Ringed plover...1 Oystercatcher, 2 Redpoll, 1 chiffchaff in song and a Peregrine chasing a Stock Dove which managed to escape.
4 Curlew 1 Ringed Plover 1 Oystercatcher 2 Redshank 7 Snipe 1 female Merlin 1 Peregrine which stooped then hovered briefly before it dropped on a Snipe before taking this south off the reserve (record shot of the bird flying away attached which show the Snipe in its talons)

Day spent around here today; usual route, up Astley Road, across to Cutnook Lane, and then across Twelve Yards Road to Little Woolden Moss. Highlights:

2 goldcrest (one singing) 1 chiffchaff heard singing Goldfinch and chaffinch in good numbers, a few greenfinch. 13+ linnet 2 bullfinch 3 or 4 reed bunting (one singing) 10 yellowhammer (a few singing) 1 corn bunting (singing) 25+ meadow pipit 8 pied wagtail 1 grey wagtail 25+ skylark (several up singing) 100+ starling 26+ redwing 7 song thrush (a few singing) 23+ fieldfare 5 mistle thrush (two singing) 2 jay 1 raven heard 21 stock dove 150+ lapwing 60+ black-headed gull 3 or 4 kestrel Lots of the usuals.
