Not much about, A buzzard, a kestrel and a sparrowhawk, no hobbies for me.

o.

Also saw Willow warbler, chiffchaff and whitethroat, but no yellow wagtails.

Its been over a year since I visited, so I need to rediscover the birds territories.

Little Woolden Moss - 06:30-08:00

Well my first visit to Little Woolden Moss wasn't quite as successful as I'd hoped! Absoultely blowing a hooley and chucking down with rain, which stopped me going too far.

Zero waders seen at all, but then there wasn't a huge amount of anything.  Most probably hunkered down somewhere.

However in between the shorts rain breaks there were a few birds:

Spotted Flycatcher (by car park)
10+ Willow Warbler
Chiffchaff
15 Sand Martin
5 Swallow
3 Canada Goose
20 Greylag Goose
2 Lesser Black-backed Gull
6 Pied Wagtail (all juvenile)
2 Linnet
Kestrel
Sparrowhawk
4 Song Thrush

Off home down south this afternoon so will explore more sites when I'm back again!

Thanks,

Nige

The only things to add to below are at least two green sandpiper; three birds seen overhead, but only two positively Id'd, the third probably the same, but not confirmed. A couple of other sightings of single birds in flight, too. Also a couple of teal, a willow tit and at least two chiffchaff in with a nice sized (predominantly juvenile) willow warbler flock.

The plovers and dunlin also found, and the wood sandpiper gave good, prolonged views.

Little Woolden Moss

1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrels, 4 Linnets and 1 Little Ringed Plover.

A large group of Willow Warblers were moving along the reserve Southern boundary,

frequently fly catching as they moved through the larger trees.

"Alba" Wagtails were numerous around the larger pools.
