AMBERSWOOD
Nothing unusual but a lovely walk with many birds singing and showing well.several chiffs and willow warblers,1 whitethrote. 3 reed buntings all in different places probably garding nests,one yellowhammer,one kestrel,1jay.also suspect garden warbler but couldnt pin the bird down.
on the lake 4 tufted,10 mallard,2 swans,6 coot and a pair with 4 chicks,2 moorhen,2 gadwal.there were four crows and 2 magpies but no signs of cuckoo this morning.
LOW HALL
on the pond 2 mute swans,2 gadwall and 2 coot.round and about 2 sedge in different terratories,4 dunnock,4 great tits,willows and chiffs, no signs of great spotted woodpecker.

Walking down old railway line tonight heard cuckoo calling to the south west towards the lake, first of the year for mebiggrin.gif .

14/05/08 quick walk around the flash and an extened fieldwatch from the railway

blackbird,chiffchaff,5 coot,2 mistle thrush,1 heron ,2 mute swan 2 gadwall 2 bh gull 1 grey wagtail,pheasant, wood pigeon 2 swallow 2 jackdaw,11 goldfinch,no raptorscry.gif

Finally a little sun and boy did the birds make the most of the evening sun.

low hall saw 4 sedge warblers,6 whitethrote,2 willow warblers ,2 reed bunting,4 goldfinch ,1 songthrush all singing away in the shrub and hawthorn tree tops.

amberswood usual 2 cuckoos,2 kestrel,3 warblers unidentified but heard well in the reeds,1 bullfinch,1 jay.
