winchat marshside 13/05/07

Called at Martin Mere pretty quiet birdwise but great to see avocet, ring plover and shelduck all with chicks.Only two raptors on view ,a very distant buzzard on a fence post enjoying an afternoon meal and a hovering kestrel in front of Ron Baker hide.
On to Marshside and realy close up views of Avocet with chicks from sandplant hide and dunlin only 5mts away from hide.Decided to have a walk around the old sandplant where wheatear, winchat (lifer)biggrin.gif, sedge warbler (lifer)biggrin.gif, meadowpipit, skylark and whitethrotes all showing well.
From Nells hide the dunlins were everywhere possibly 200+ ,avocets, gadwall, lapwing.
Before the rain arrived couldnt resist going back to sandplant to watch the winchats 2 male 2 female.
