Redwings showing well dispite constant flushing by passerbys (right next to a busy public path). Fieldfare Song thrush showing well Grey wagtail Common gulls Goosander Teal Kingfisher 2 little egrets (after one in flight) with 3 or 4 grey herons Plus the usual

This a.m. with Malcolm, at least 2 Little Egrets (2 seen together and singles seen twice), on the res. 6 Goosander and 2 Snipe with only 11 Teal. On Withins 2 Goosander with single Pink-footed Goose over. At 9.15 200 Pink-fopted Geese over SE. 1 Water Rail seen near canal. Cheers Ian
This a.m. 2 Little Egrets below pumphouse, on res. 5 Pochard (4m), 5 Goosander, 1 Kingfisher and 23 Teal. along canal 3 Water Rail seen. Also 2 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk. Cheers Ian

This a.m. with Malcolm, amongst the usual ducks were 4 Goosander and 2 Goldeneye, in the hedgerows all 5 Thrush species seen, at the feeders all 5 Tit species and a Nuthatch. Cheers Ian
2 Little Egret flew south over withins towards Radcliffe Single Golden Plover flew east 2+ Dunlin flew through south 131 Lapwing SE in small parties 5 Snipe 11 Wigeon (5 Elton, 2 Withins and 4 flew SW) 6 Shoveler 51 Teal 59 Tufted Duck 9 Goosander 115 Fieldfare 200+ Redwing Common Buzzard 2 Kingfishers 3 Water Rail ( bennies, chapsticks and withins)
This a.m. with Malcolm, 2 Shoveler, 1 Wigeon, 3 Goosander and 4 Gadwall amongst the usual Ducks. Water Rail heard in capsticks. Plenty of Winter Thrushes in the hedgerows. At the feeders 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Willow Tit and 1 Coal Tit amongst the regulars. Cheers Ian

07:30-10:30 with Ian C 45 species seen highlights. 2 Kingfisher. 5 Goldeneye. 46 Teal 44 on reservoir 2 on pool by Canal. 1 Pochard. 6 Gadwall. 7 Goosander 2 on Reservoir 5 on River Irwell. 63 Cormorants. 1 Little Egret on River Irwell. 9 Snipe. 123+ Redwings in hedgerows. 13 Fieldfare. 3 Water Rail heard only 2 Capsticks 1 below Within. 1 Kestrel.
Feeders. 2 Willow Tit. 1 Coal Tit. 1 Nuthatch.

A quick walkabout due to a few errands (errands not herons) with a few things worth noting...
Wigeon and goosander were on withins A water rail heard calling from the overgrown Brook from below withins Flocks of redwings increasing in size. Kingfisher Common gulls, (especially on the field between the tram line and Bury road) And the usual teal etc.
