This a,m, with Steven and Malcolm, 1 female Merlin below pumphouse, 1 Peregrine, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 3 Kingfisher, 6 Snipe, 1 Swift and 4 Common Tern were the highlites. Cheers Ian
My first site record of a Hobby, perched in a tree by the creek and looking rather bedraggled in the drizzle. 1 Sparrowhawk.
Good numbers of warblers still in the hedgerows with Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and lots of Willow Warbler in sub song- almost like spring!
Early morning with Simon Johnson and Dave Broome upto 10:30am;
1 Tree Pipit over SW at 07:40 3 Redstarts Elton Goyt (2 of which were different birds to yesterday) 4/5 Lesser Whitethroat 25 Whitethroat 16 Willow Warbler 1 Garden Warbler in the Dip with 1 Willow Tit and 1 Treecreeper 6 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff 20 Swift 2 Buzzard 2 Common Tern 3 Snipe Elton Goyt on pool
3 Lesser Whitethroat, 4-5 Willow Tits and a Nuthatch of note along the hedges between the Creek and Capsticks area. Also 1 Teal, 3 Common Tern and 10+ Swift present.
This a.m. with Malcolm, on res. 1 Common Sandpiper, Tufted Duck with 4 young and Mute Swans with 5. On canal near Corran Stud 3 Water Rail. Below Withins 1 Garden Warbler and on Withins 1 Kingfisher. In hedgerow on N side of res. 1 Spotted Flycatcher. Cheers Ian
7-8.30 this a.m. on the res. 1 Common Tern, 1 Little Grebe and the 4 Tufted Duck Ducklings still. On path between the res. and Capsticks a freshly dead Canada Goose minus head and neck. A Water Rail seen well along the canal and lots of Swift overhead, minimum of 150 today. Finally large flock, 100+ of Goldfinch on embankment below pumphouse Cheers Ian
6.45-7.45 today, 3 Common Tern, 1 Redshank (heard only), 1 Little Grebe, still the 4 young Tufted Duck at the res. Also 2 Water Rail at Capsticks. Cheers Ian
Early a.m. approx. 50 Swift over sailing club with a similar number at Capsticks end of res. also large numbers of Sand Martin (200+). 1 Common Sandpiper and the Tufted Duck still has 5 young. Cheers Ian
6.45- 8.00 a.m. quite a good morning, best was a Spotted Flycatcher in apple tree behind sailing club also Tufted Duck with 6 tiny ducklings at Capsticks end of the res, 7 Common Tern, 2 using the res for fishing and 5 high over heading SW, Cheers Ian

This a.m. with Malcolm(welcome back after your accident), 1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling (not seen) in Old Hall marsh, just 1 singing Sedge Warbler, 3 Kestrels, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Tern and 2 Kingfisher (1 heading towards the river carrying a fish) were the highlites. Cheers Ian

Highlights from this morning 8/7/18. 1 Common Sandpiper. 8 Lapwings flew over SE high up. 2 Common Terns. 7 Cormorants flew over East 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. 1 Kestrel. Mixed flock of Blue, Great & Long tailed tit moving through hedge between Wader point and Creek.
04:40- 08:10am with Ian c from 06:30am highlights. 1 Grasshopper Warbler old hall marsh. 3 Sedge Warblers. 5 Whitethroat. 6 Willow Warbler. Lesser Whitethroat 2 Heard only. Reed warbler hear only. 1 Common Snipe flew from Capsticks. 2 Little Ringed plover By Creek. 1 Common Sandpiper near car park. 3 Common tern. 1 Kingfisher Withins 3 Kestrel. 1 Peregrine falcon. Water rail heard only along canal and capsticks.
Morning 1/7/18 up to 09:40am with Ian C. 1 Common Tern. 2 Shoveler. 12 Tufted Ducks. 1 Oystercatcher. 1 Water Rail plus 3 Heard. 1 Kingfisher. 2 Linnets. Lesser & Common Whitethroats. Singing Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Sedge Warblers. 2 Possibly 4 Kestrels.
Brief early morning visit, of note a Common Sandpiper at creek, the first sign of Autumn migration or a bird displaced from the burning moorland?. Also single Common Tern. Cheers Ian
