5 Common Sandpipers flushed by 3 Little Egrets.
3 Little Egrets. Photo attached.

This am with Brian and Beth, 1 Arctic Tern 2 Common Tern and a Common Sandpiper on the res. In hedgerow between creek and capstics 25+ Willow Warbler also Chiffchaff Garden Warbler Blackcap and a Spotted Flycatcher. Redstart in Redstart hedge and another Spotted Flycatcher near crowtrees.

06:30-10:00am With Malcolm a very quite day warbler wise. 3 Common Terns possibly 4 birds 1 Juv 1 Adult then 2 Adults seen. 2 Redshank flew across res. 1 Spotted flycatcher below Withins . 1Sparrowhawk and Kestrel having a dispute at the side of Within. Cheers Steven .

Lesser Redpoll 5 flew over at 6:30

Swift c. 20 at dawn
Sand Martin c. 40 mid morning with a few swallows and house martins Plus a pair of Gatekeeper butterflies - first of year

06:00-07:50am highlights being, 1 Juvenile Little Grebe. 1 Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker. 3 Water Rails heard in Capsticks Marsh. Good numbers of Swift, Swallows, Sand Martins and House Martins. At least 6 Family parties of Willow Warblers. Cheers Steven

This a.m. 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Stock Dove feeding on road in front of Ennius, Water Rail again heard in capsticks where there was a family party of Sedge Warblers.

Early morning, a single Black-tailed Godwit was hiding amongst resting Canada Geese on the grass by the first pylon, before I accidently flushed it off. Also 2 Common Sandpipers this morning.

Good Numbers of lapwings in excess of 80 birds with around 50% this years young.

Also worthy of note is a grasshopper warbler was reeling from the middle of old Hall Marsh along with the usual sedge warblers. Ta!
