RE: Wood Sandpiper Pennington 22/04

Ian, me still sleeping at 08:00, not in my lifetime..................oh no, wait, you're right I was, must have been a one off though.................no wait, I sleep in every morning when I'm not at work, well there's no point trying to beat Barry to Pennington is there? Anyway the light's always bad at the Peat Pools and Hope Carr at that time of morning, Rumworth'll put me slap bang in rush hour traffic and so will every where else, but that's the only reason I don't get up early in the county anymore, well that and a certain 2002 county year list sleep.gif

Had excellent views of it on the exposed mud / stones around the `compass post` and up and down the spit. It flew when harrassed by a Moorhen ? ! but soon came back.
Big thanks to Brian Fielding for txt  wink
(Made up for missing the Wigan Glauc..............well, nearly  bleh )

Fortunately Ian Woosey rang me and I was only just over a mile (at the Peat Pools) away from my computer at the time, so the news got on within minutes!

Even faster though, Judith Smith has just rung me from there (30 seconds ago) to say that there is currenly no sign of the bird, although it could well be hiding around the side of the spit you can't see and may still be present?
