Having read about everyone tripping over Ring Ouzels in the west of the county I searched a few likely spots over here in the hills today and was pleasantly surprised to find at least 8 (5 males and 3 females) in the area above Higher Chelburn Res'r, Littleborough giving stonking views. Also in the area at least 10 Wheatear, pair Stonechats, 2 Twite, 1 Stock Dove, 3 Curlew & a Golden Plover calling. This looks suitable breeding habitat for ROuzels but I guess these are just migrants.

At Hollingworth Lake today a Blackcap singing (first this year) & 14 Sand Martins. A Dunlin was at Shaw Moss - also 3 LRPs & 3 Redshank.
