I was up there early this morning. No sign of Ring Ouzels.

Hi Dean,

They are passing through, but today was their second day in the area (although not seen from mid-morning onwards). It`s worth a punt if you`ve never seen them before - you can keep Geoff company while you`re there !

Are these Ring Ouzels likely to still be around or are they passing through?
I've never seen one and didn't realise we had them locally.

 Dean.

5 Ring Ouzel (3 males) this morning at Burnt Edge, Horwich.
I first picked up a female chattering away in Holden`s Plantation, which then flew towards the farm, then came back with 2 males, and joined up with another pair. By this time Ian Mckerchar had `ambled` over from Two Lads, but they`d flown off high over Adam Hill. Paul Hammond joined us and we walked towards the quarry with no luck. We left Paul to his vigil and Ian and myself took off but managed to pick three up in the field next to Newfields farm as we drove past.

Sorry for this long drawn-out account, but it was quite a morning for me !  biggrinbiggrin
(Hope you see `em Paul ! )
