This morning up to 11.00. The lodge is being drained for repairs at the dam, so lots of exposed mud:
Green Sandpiper 1 Snipe 38 Teal 32 Coot 41 Fieldfare 60 feeding on hawthorns Redwing 9 also feeding A flock of 120 Fieldfare flew straight through heading South
Does anyone know anything about the two geese that hang about near the dam? They seem quite tame but the unusual thing about them is that I have never seen them more than six inches apart!

My species total for 2019 was 96, for all-comers it was 104. This is the lowest total for some time, reflecting the fact that Rumworth has become significantly underwatched. My bird of the year was the male Garganey.
This morning the most interesting sighting an adult Peregrine Falcon which flushed all the gulls and corvids on and around the lodge and landed on a post in a field on the far side near Lostock and Chew Moor Community Meadow. The bird remained for 15 to 20 minutes I had good views with my scope.
