Lock Lane has been quiet for the last two days.

2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls resident at present on five foot island.

Joined nearby by two Common Gulls. ....one adult, one 1s

2 Oystercatcher

Long-tailed Tit.....2

Mistle Thrush....1

Yesterday there were 2 Grey Wagtail at the dam...together.

Also 2 Greylag Geese flew in and are by flood.

At least 1 Mediterranean Gull on water currently.

The flood this am with David Rogers.

The two Mediterranean Gulls are present and correct but mainly sleeping.

Also two Oystercatcher by the Flood.

9.15 this am at the Flood:

Two Mediterranean Gulls still present and correct, and sleeping.

70+ Black-headed Gulls.

6 Pied Wagtail.

Mallards...3

Linnets and Song Thrush about.

Yesterday am, two Oystercatchers present .

and the 2 Lesser black-Backed Gulls were back on 5 foot island, which they favoured last year.

and 3 Curlew flew in nearby on grass.

A very bright male Grey Wagtail. First I've seen here this year.

Hopefully with the Dippers back on Middlebrook we can expect a Dipper too, soon ( non seen 2018).

Lock Lane around 3.30 pm:

Around Seddon Fold and the flooded field were:

Linnet....55

Fieldfare...13

Starling...c25

Common Gull....3 together, with Black-headed Gulls.

As I was leaving Lock Lane a big flock of Linnets c80 flew over me and Hunger Hill, and off towards 4 Lane Ends.

Checking the islands : there were 2 Oystercatcher at the north end of each Island +one (head only) seen at the back of South Isle

Lapwing ...18 on south isle

Up to 12.30pm. Weather bright and crisp.  Lodge partly iced.

Lapwing...100 on ice

Goosander....2 redhead, in channel but later on Lodge.

As I was leaving a large mobile flock of Starling came in from  the east. As they fed  briefly I managed to locate 8 Fieldfare among them.

Spoke with Phil and for short time met with Steve, who had had a Little Grebe this morn.

Phil had seen the usual Yellow-legged Gull, and an adult Mediterranean earlier this am.

 3w Yellow-legged Gull again at 11am today, along with an adult Mediterranean Gull.

Not sure if I should be posting here sorry Ian if incorrect. I was at Rumworth on Sunday there was a sign on the gate at Lostock to say they had a confirmed case of Alabama rot with one dog Fatality already. I think its just a case of washing your shoes if you own a dog which a lot of us do. We saw it after we had walked round don't know a lot about it really just know there is no known cure for the disease. Thanks Terry

10 to 11 am with Phil Rhodes. Cold and windy.

Yellow-legged Gull (3rd. w)...1 This is the semi regular( at present) morning bird. Good views, often preening. Legs seen several times as it stretched wings. Flew off at 10.45.
