8 Buzzard in the air, viewed south from Alder Drive. Siskin singing at the junction of Ridgeway and Brooks Drive, Jackdaw over. Magpie numbers reduced from their peak of 38 in the horse field, in early Feb.
2 pairs Long Tailed Tit on Brooks Drive, 1 pair collecting spiders webs from inside a tangle of Holly.

One lap of Beech Fields at 2.30 p.m today in the hope of seeing the Kingfisher which has been seen recently flying along the brook but no luck. However did see:
1 x Green Sandpiper fly out of the brook.
1 x Little Egret (again)
2 x Common Gull (again)
1 x Jay
1 x Lesser Black-backed Gull
1 x Black-headed Gull
(Last week, 1 x Great Spotted Woodpecker)
And spent 10 mins closely watching a Fieldfare in the Orchard allotment constantly but fruitlessly chasing off 4 Blackbirds from the apples on and off the trees; wonderful.
About 60 - 65 Pink Footed Geese SE over Alder Dr nr Brooks Drive at 4.30pm on Sun 5th Nov; 40 mins later unseen flock in the dark sounded to be heading back west perhaps. Wondered if the fireworks might've scared them, as it was Bommy Night..

Beginning of June a Stock Dove singing in Fairywell Wood, with the first fledged Woodpigeon present. The Herons appear to have finished nesting here.
The overgrown fields adjacent to the Ridgeway sports fields hosted a Kestrel and singing Whitethroat. 21 Canada Geese heading northwest into the setting sun, perhaps moult migration or just local movement.

A pleasant morning stroll up Brooks Drive and surrounding fields on Bank Holiday Monday, the 1st May. Nothing outrageous but plenty of breeding activity from Stock Dove, Heron, Mistle Thrush, Goldcrest, etc.

5 p.m. 80 x Redwing in the trees by the moat, 1 x Jay, good views of my first singing Chiffchaff this year, 1 x GS Woodpecker. 1 x Pochard (f) still at KingGeorgeV.
Saw Raven carrying nesting material a couple of weeks ago! So have they nested in Timperley? Saw family containing 4 young at Wythenshawe park last spring!
1 x GS Woodpecker (f) by the moat. 1 x Little Egret at KingGeorgeV. Now another adult Mute Swan getting well pecked by the new male whilst the 2 youngsters watch close by.
Lunchtime. One tree by the moat had 4 x Siskin feeding next to 1 x Goldfinch with 2 x Redwing and 2 x Chaffinch and 1 x Nuthatch on higher branches when along came 1 x GS Woodpecker (f). At KingGeorgeV 2 x Mallards displaying then mating right in front of me. 1 x new Mute Swan unringed and 2 new x juvenile Mute Swans (apparently not ringed).
19.1.23 - 4 Fieldfare west over Heyes Lane near Beech Fields, presumably cheesed off with the frost and snow.
(Late news - Blackcap on feeder, on Whitebeam Close, Dec 26th.)

Have not seen 4BFI for several days, so suspected a return to KGV. The relationship with XY4444 did not last long, and she soon tried a different male; I wasn't able to read the ring number. This next male looked stronger than XY4444, so perhaps it is this one she has lured away, though possibly a third or fourth male might have been involved briefly. Also, she is perhaps fortunate; XY4444 came down with HPAI H5N1 a week ago and has spent the week in a very morose state, though now seems to be recovering slowly. Although 31 swans died / were put down four recovered from infection, three of these having shown bad symptoms.
1 x Raven flew down the 18th fairway, 2 x Nuthatch together on feeders, 1 x Treecreeper. At KingGeorgeV pool 1 x Lesser BB Gull amongst 30 BH Gulls, 1 Song Thrush, approx 20 Lapwing over, then a Kingfisher did a flyby the full length of the pool. All the Mute Swan cygnets died as did 1 parent. The remaining parent 4BFI was not here this a.m. About 20 Goldfinch cheerfully feeding together.
A dozen Redwing around the moat this p.m. 1 Grey Wagtail flew out of the brook next to KingGeorgeV along with a long billed wader but didn't get a decent look. 1 x GS Woodpecker (m) a few days ago. 1 x BH Gull on the lawn of my small Timperley back garden today and yesterday which I've never seen before.
I was quite amazed to see a Common Snipe drop in to land on grass outside my window at work this morning. No doubt the cold weather has caused a local dispersal to find any unfrozen feeding areas.
Also up to 9 Ring-necked Parakeets have regularly been seen flying over recent days to and from nearby gardens.

Kingfisher on the middle island of KingGeorgeV pool. 5 x Goosander on the pool. The tree by the moat that had the nesting Nuthatch and Jays has been chopped down as have a few others.
Got lucky, just happened to be scanning with bins from upstairs window on Whitebeam Close, Timperley.
Yesterday Tue 27th, 1030 a.m., c. 22 Pink Footed Geese distant to SW somewhere Hale South/Bollin going north-ish.

Yesterday 25th Sept c. 6pm ish, was surprised to see a tight flock of I'd guess at least 70+ Ring Necked Parakeets flying northeast over Rossett Ave., Timperley.
By far the most I've seen in the area but as I live in Wales it may be normal!?..

Sparrowhawks bred successfully in Fairywell Wood, safely flown the nest now.
Juvenile Kestrel with ad female in disused fields next to Brooks Drive, indicating local breeding success.
Daily Ravens over the wood and adjacent field.
2 Swift, 2 Swallow over Ridegway Sports Fields on Fri 26.8.22..
Fairywell Brook still without water, so no chance of Green Sandpiper which is sometimes heard at this time of year.
