While stuck in traffic today near the Trafford centre on the road leading down to Barton swing bridge. I saw a Sparrowhawk hunting in the fields opposite B+Q about 20m from the road, it was flying about 1m above the ground and succeeded in flushing a Little Owl which was hidden in the grass which it then chased into the trees opposite the church.I have never seen a Little Owl fly as fast as this one ,as it reached the trees the Sparrowhawk decided to give up the chase.

Sorry ,I have put this post in the wrong section ,it should be in the Bird sightings section. The wine is better than I thought!
