No big snowballs but 5+ Lesser Redpoll this morning in quite an extensive search. The area just immediately through the gate onto the green looked to be the best habitat.

Thanks for replying Paul, someone must have seen something atleast vaguely reminicent of an Arctic, perhaps we'll never find out, but atleast you've had a look.

Had a look around the area mentioned this morning but never heard or saw any Redpoll let alone an Arctic Redpoll. 
Habit okay for Redpoll.
Failed to add Red Grouse, calling, to year list

Rumours on one of the bird information services today of a possible Arctic Redpoll near Stalybridge . Anybody any further info on this? If the finder is out there and would like to discuss it privately, then please feel free to contact me (details on the website), otherwise it could become one of the counties seemingly many 'throwaway rarities' that get put onto the information services but go no further- which is a real shame
