Hi Annette, Water Rail wasn't to be seen today, don't give up! Hopefully its still there and will stay through winter.


Lunchtime today at Crompton Lodges. 1 Goldeneye, 6 Goosanders (4 red heads), 4-5 Common Gulls, 2 male Pochards, 2 Cormorants.

Hi Steve


have spent many hours at moses gate recently and still cant get a fix n this bird.


There are also now large numbers of goosander on the main lake.

Water Rail still at top of weir on River Irwell nr Rock Hall. Too dark for photos but managed some video clips. Hopefully it will show on a day when light is good.
