RE: Speke garston coastal reserve and speke hall

Reports of interesting Lesser Whitethroat on "Liverpool local Birding" Whatsapp yesterday. Could be Eastern. Photos on Whatsapp, I don't feel I can upload them here without permission. Location is someone's garden, seems to be at W end of Garston coastal reserve

If anyone knows more about this, don't be shy ...

Had a quick visit this morning before going to see the Waxwing in Orrell

Very quiet on the bird front early this morning apart from 4 Kestrels, but I got a big surprise when I saw a Grey seal swimming down the river mersey biggrin

Visited the site today.

A wader roost was present during the high tide which was quite unusual as I have never noticed one here before. A group of 8 whimbrel was present with all the common wader species, along with 2 grey herons and 3 cormorants

On the main reserve:

3 grasshopper warbler (with more heard)
3 sedge warbler
2 chiffchaffs
6 whitethroats
1 blackcap
2 reed bunting
5 skylarks
20 swallows
5 swift
1 grey partridge
