Thurs 6th Jan

Castleton.
Delivering to a regular customer at the quiet end of the village. Just closing the doors of the van when I heard a familiar call, straight away I thought thats Bramblings calling. I looked up and they were just coming into land at the top of a tall tree in the customers garden.
A minimum 8, with other birds, including Siskin and Tree Sparrows, calls gave them away too. Tried to count them but they were mobile, some dispersed when a farm cat appeared on a stone wall nearby.
Winter Thrushes around, too many to count.

- 8 Brambling
- c10 Siskin
- 4 Tree Sparrow seen, more heard
- 2 Chaffinch
- c50 Fieldfare
- c20 Redwing
- 2 Raven
