Just had an email back from the reporting site for true bugs by Dr Tristan Bantock on the common Gorse Lace bug. Last visit three adults were found in the cheesden valley on two random bushes of gorse so the possibility is that there were a lot more of the adults found. It appeared odd as information reported adults only appeared from June. Anyway the email

'this is a very interesting record and it seems clear that these bugs have overwintered as adults. This is contrary to published information given in Southwood & Leston, as well as my own observations of this species'

Small but interesting observation of a common bug and in GMC.

The nymphs were bark lice nymphs which are a whole other species id by Dr Joe Botting

and of course thanks to the help of these who support and aid pure amateurs like myself through their top website.
