C9 brief glimpse of a fox, first i've seen over here for months, although a couple of fellow dog walkers have told me they have seen a large dog fox quite regularly,

C9 a grey squirrel put on a superb acrobatic display for about 5 mins this morning didn't seem to be any purpose to it, it just seemed to be playing.

dinner plate sized terrapin sunning itself on a log at Fir Tree flash, dropped into the water when disturbed by a cyclist

good numbers of butterfly before the rain came, my butterfly id is not great but i did spot, large white, small white, gatekeeper, meadow brown and peacock,
The rowan trees are now packed with berries is this normal or are they late? none of them had berries in winter when the fieldfare etc normally feed on them consequently i didn't see antything like as many fieldfare as in previous years.
1 dead shrew on tarmac road wednesday morning.

2 dead shrew on concrete road above Diggle flash this morning, Hundreds of small frogs ( approx 1/4 inch ) on paths around Diggle flash and on Tarmac road all seem to be heading away from the water into the fields.

Fox just off the new road built to service proposed golf course, had a bit of a staring match with my young rotty before being disturbed by a collie coming the other way. ( rotty was on the lead)

2 squirrel playing in trees around fir tree flash at 5-20pm
