South West Wales


Just returned from our tour of South West Wales namely a week in Freshwater East and a week in Cenarth Falls
Week1
Goldfinches
Blue tits
Great tits
Blackbirds
Chaffinches
Robins
Buzzards
Kestrels
Swifts
Swallows

Cormorants at least 200
Great black backs
Black headed
Fulmers
Herring gull
Oyster catchers
Rock pipit
and the nightly spectacular of 300 to 400 Rooks and Jackdaws coming into roost what a sight and sound bit Hitchcock lol

Week 2
much the same in the small bird department with the addition of
Pied wagtail
Sparrow hawk
Nuthatch
Willow warbler
Collared dove
Coal tit
Mistle thrush
Wren
Grey Wagtail
Red Kites
on a visit to the River Teifi Wildlife visitors center £3 to park and no other charge you can spend the day there great value
Kingfisher
Green shanks
Curlew
Oyster catchers
Canadas
Herons
2 x Cettis Warblers highlight

and my personal highlight was watching 4 Buzzards and 4 Red Kites flying together for most of Friday afternoon
