Waterside Quay , near to Holiday Inn express - c 50 Redwing (joined in flight by a further 50 Redwing temporarily ) feeding on Rowan berries. , also 5 Mistle Thrush and 5 Fieldfare. Also saw a Cormorant flying along the MSC. with a white breeding patch showing.
A walk around Castlefield canal basin area this morning, mostly in dry weather ;
2x Mute Swan, 7x Mallard, 1x Domestic duck (Swedish Blue hybrid), 3x Canada Goose, 4x Blue Tit, 2x Carrion Crow, 20x Black Headed Gull, all around the Bridgewater Canal. The gulls were all perched on top of the white footbridge at one time.
1x Grey Wagtail, 1x Canada Goose, 1x Mallard, 1x Domestic duck (Swedish Blue hybrid), 3x Magpie, 10x Feral Pigeon along the Rochdale Canal.
A very nice walk, the canals very peaceful and the birds very tame.
Quick walk round Pomona before sunset: 5 blackbirds 3 Mistle thrush Chiffchaff Grey wagtail Meadow pipit over Common sandpiper heard only 5 House Martins over Blackcap heard only
My wife was taking a group of University of Manchester students around Salford Quays and she saw the drake Goldeneye there. This was on Friday 23rd September so his survival instincts are still going strong
Male goldeneye, moulting, it's the resident drake as it still has half a left wing. Not seen him for a long time, I thought the worst had happened to him. 1 kingfisher 1 grey wagtail C220 black headed gulls 54 lesser black backed gulls 2 herring gulls 1 common gull
12,40pm : Single Ring-necked parakeet flying around Exchange Quay ... Can't tell wether it's a wild one or an escaped captive, as its flying into all the windows trying to perch.
Wheatear female on south Marsh area Meadow pipits heard over 5 Mistle thrush Great spotted Woodpecker on trees by canal a first for me here Chiffchaff Lapwing Plus usual waterbirds (Mute Swan, Mallard, Cormorant, Black headed gull, lesser black-backed gulls)

There was a semi leucistic Crow in Furness Quays car park today at approximately 12 noon, that just had two white wings, it looked quite extraordinary. As I was in work I didn't have my camera handy
Quick nip around on my bike this afternoon, Pamona and the Quays. Not too much about, but I wasn't around for long.
Several Willow Warbler Blackcaps Garden Warbler Singing 4 House martins Cormorants All the usual Gulls Mute Swans, some with cygnets Grey and Pied Wagtails Collard Dove Grey Heron

Gorgeous today on Pomona, decent numbers of singing Willow Warblers & Whitethroats, always a pleasure to see in the urban environment, also plenty Sand Martins
