RE: Lathkilldale Peak District

Lathkill Dale (Moneyash-Over Haddon) 11.00-16.00

1 Hobby, 2 Buzzards, 3 Garden Warblers (2 still singing), 10 Grey Wagtails (inc 2 family groups) and 1 Dipper.

1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff and 3 Blackcaps also still singing.

Only a small section of the river seems suitable for Dippers, much of the rest seems choked in vegetation, the river level was very low too.

Although where pools form along the valley, 2 Coot families with small young, 1 Moorhen with 2 well grown youngsters and a Mallard brood of 4 small ducklings are flourishing.

We Three saw 3 dippers on the river. One on it's own, and then at a waterfall/dam we watched two feeding young from the river to a hole in the dam bank.
Must have been serious as there were also 3 very large lenses in front of 3 men who looked settled for the day taking pictures.
