Afternoon mooch, Abbey Lane and Pickley Green

1 Sedge Warbler
1 Garden Warbler, Singing and showing well

Small numbers of Swift, Swallow and House Martin particularly around Abbey Lane over the horses fields.

Spotted Flycatcher seen this morning on the lines
5 Whitethroat
4 Blackcap
3 Skylark, Abbey Lane area
2 Song Thrush, More heard
1 Weak reeling Grasshopper Warbler
Pair of swans on Flood
Pair of Great Crested Grebes also on Flood
2 Yellowhammer
Plenty Swallow around Both areas
Few House Martin
1 Jay

Still no sign of Grey Wagtails, had a good hour mooching around Westleigh Brook. There is a section of Westleigh Brook which is not accessible so hopefully they could be around that area.

1 Tree Pipit decent views then lost as it flew off into cover

Male Redstart present 7:50 - 8pm at least. Also 2 Grasshopper Warbler and singing Willow Tit.

07:00 till 09:30 Beautiful morning

No sign of Pied Flycatcher or Cuckoo this morning but a stunning Lesser Whitethroat my first this year and at least 3 Grasshopper Warblers. Plenty other Warblers singing with Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap all in fine voice. A male Kestrel was giving good views hunting on the banks of Westleigh brook and the resident Grey Wagtails also present.
A single male Yellowhammer was seen and decent numbers of singing Skylark both at Pickley Green and around the Abbey Lane area.

Female Pied Flycatcher at 7:20pm for five minutes this evening but no further sign by 8:15pm. Also 2 Grasshopper Warblers.

Cracking views of Kingfisher this morning with small fish on Westleigh brook.
2 Teal were also present on flood at Abbey lane.

13 Lesser redpoll were the higlights this morning around Pickley green, also 1 Kestrel and a Buzzard also gave good views both birds perched in trees.

No Redwing or Feildfare this morning.

Goldfinch,Chaffinch and Greenfinch all seen, First Greenfinch seen for a while.
Small Tit flock, Including Blue,Great and Long tailed, and the usual Robin and Blackbird in good numbers.
There was also plenty of Woodpigeon about.

A nice morning but still a bit chilly.
