RE: Cheshire Area.

Whilst angling I had great pleasure in watching a female Sparrowhawk drop prey for two juveniles who perched in a willow. Obviously only one was successful in catching the meal.

Mum was to and fro with food but only one drop witnessed another magic moment.

Hawfinch yesterday in the arboretum behind the Swettenham Arms, along with the usual expected woodland species.

A female spotted flycatcher just outside Swettenham village this afternoon. Just near a ford that runs over the road.
I had identified this spot as a good spot for a flycatcher and when i returned to look, it was the first bird i saw!
I suspect there may be more than just one here, but it was all i saw this evening around 8.45-9.10pm.

The Rostherne bird only needs to fly north a couple of hundred metres to make it over the border...

Had super views of the Poynton Cattle Egret this lunchtime - well worth the visit.
