Common Scoter still there at 1.30pm. A fantastic bird for me. In 45 years birding I'd never seen an inland Scoter. It was getting me down! But not any more. Thanks Steve.
Thanks to Phil for posting about the Shelduck. I resolved to brave the wind for a Rumworth tick, and was soon onto it after a 2 mile drive and a very short walk from Tempest Road. Redshank still there too when I left at @ 4.00pm. I think it was a drake by the way.

Drake Pintail present at 3:15pm, but mobile. Initially with other wildfowl near east bank, including 10 Gadwall and a pair of Shoveler, it flew to islands then towards Lock Lane, appearing to go down at the (presumably frozen) floods. 2 Lapwing were feeding on the grass bank at the front of the Britannia Hotel
Dam and Lock lane. Very quiet. 30 Fieldfare feeding on rough pasture (next to the cottage with feeders, on Lock lane). 2 Fieldfare feeding by Broadgate farm. A Grey Heron flew up from the Dam. A Pair of Shovelers flew onto the frozen flood, but then departed. Greenfinch heard only.
