RE: Birding Northwest

phil, sorry to hear about your mum,but welcome to the forum, and sorry don,t
know about birding northwest, but as recent convert to birding i,m finding more things to see and do than i have time for through the forum and main website, most of the reports are only hours old and all within an hours drive
of wigan so you might pick up some county rarities on your visits.

Hi all,

I'm an expatriot Wiganer (the Wigan Flashes were my local patch from 1975-1982 when I moved to Hampshire). As my mother is unwell, I will be travelling back up to Wigan several times in the coming months. I was in Wigan a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have time for local birding but did manage a visit to Martin Mere. My question is about Birding Northwest magazine, what is it like, is it worth me subscribing?
I might post my county total later when I've checked it out fully (expect c.160, not brilliant, but I birded exclusively in the SW of the county or over the border in Lancs/Merseyside). Btw my current county list (Hampshire) is 270!

Phil
PS I don't recognise any of the regular contributors here except Tom Morton(hi Tom) have ALL the older birders gone mothing?
