Far from "pathetic" Bill! You don't need to see rarities to make it a good day out and Ravens scrapping with Peregrine sounds pretty good to me. We need dedicated patch workers like you.
Keep up the good work!

Good to see you on the forum Bill and a nice selection of birds there today. As for your comment:
"Seems a bit pathetic of me reporting these "miserable" sightings whilst others are enjoying sightings of Shag and White-fronted Goose!!"
see my posting of the escapee Lesser Canada Goose at Pennington for the highlight of a really poor days birding, makes yours look like a really good day out!

8 Teal & 3 Goosanders on Ogden. A Pochard was again seen diving for food on Kitcliffe Reservoir - Pochard is a scarcity at Piethorne - it is 3 years since the last series of records here! Also seen 24 Fieldfares, 2 Bullfinches, and 2 Great Crested Grebes. A pair of very noisy Ravens were seen circling at moderate height over the Higher Ogden & Wickenhall area. They were continually being harassed by a Peregrine Falcon. On at least 2 occasions the Peregrine performed "stooping" like attacks on the Ravens but never actually made contact with them. All three then disappeared out of sight in the direction of Crompton Moor.
80+ Lapwings were seen in the air around junction 21 of the M62.
Seems a bit pathetic of me reporting these "miserable" sightings whilst others are enjoying sightings of Shag and White-fronted Goose!!
