Springs Gatherings. Jays Magpies and other species have springs gatherings, there is no set time or place as with Black grouse , its just about been in the right place at the right time.
I have noted 13 jays together in Kickerty Brook mersey valley only two years ago , there had been a gathering there before , yet to see it this year .
we sometimes forget to record or notice bird behaviour, it can be as interesting as a identification problems ...

While out today, a non birder dog walker lady said to me,is it usual to see jays (3),static in trees,i said i think it is unusual, but i have seen this in the same approximate ,location twice my self in the past few weeks, in my own observations of jays they seem to by a bit flighty and restless and soon move from where they alight. Your opinions please,
