hanks for the advice everyone. The scope was 2nd hand when I bought it. All I know is its an acuter scope. Im just wary to leave it at a shop because last time I tried to have it repaired we went into lockdown and I was without it for many weeks. Ill make some phone calls this week and drop it off somewhere. I realise it wont be a cheap job but worth it
Cheers everyone

John is right, it will depend on the cost of the scope as to whether it is economically viable. Give me a call at Focalpoint Optics on 01925730399, we are your local dealer and sponsor the GM Forums that we are all on now

Unfortunately there are no cheap repairs of optics ,and you have little chance of repair why you wait, what you have to work out is if it's a £2000 scope send it back to the manufacturer for repair,if it's a £200 scope it will cost more to repair than replace, but it sounds like a complete dismantle and if something has fell inside the scope body it will be damaging the lenses inside. Focal point near Northwitch will be able to give you a better idea give them a ring.
Got say I agree 100% with John on this.
Even when the Stockport Telescope and Binocular Centre shop was open in Edgeley, they were generally sufficiently busy that it required you to leave your kit for a thorough assessment.

Youll have a job getting it repaired locally whilst you wait. Optics normally go back to the manufacture for service/repair.
What make/model?

Does anyone know anywhere local to Tameside where I can get my scope repaired. I would prefer for it to be fixed while I wait as I dont want to be without it. The thread has dropped inside the scope resulting with the zoom lens barrel dropping off and I cant screw it back on.
Cheers
