Not far from Oldham Road. Couple of patches of Narrow-leaved Ragwort (Senecio inaequidens). Growing on edge of car park and pavement.
I don't know how common this species is here or in the county generally. It's the first time I've seen it in GM. The BSBI says that it used to be associated with wool shoddy. I noticed a small clothing factory in the area - maybe there's a link? The South-east, and especially Kent, was its stronghold but it has occurred elsewhere in England.
Oxford ragwort is very common in the Ancoats/New Islington areas I walked today.
