Not long enough. With good behaviour, he'll be unlucky to serve a year (I have experience of the prison service. On the right side of the bars, I might add!).

An end to the story, the pilot was sentenced to 3.5 years in jail yesterday Hopefully, he'll never be allowed to pilot again
I was so relieved when one of them tweeted that they were all OK as one was a good mate of mine, Adam Archer. He also posted on Facebook from the scene just after the plane ditched, with pictures, these days of instant news & social media are amazing! It was his first...... and he vows last, twitch by charter flight!! I don't blame him!

The three passengers mentioned in the MEN article attached were on their way to twitch the American Redstart at Barra in the Western Isles.
Fortunately all of those on the plane appear to have avoided serious injury.
