Hard to find a single map describing the whole SSSI, as I guess it takes a while for them to present these nicely on the internet & the govt's new-fangled "magicmap" utility
However, it's essentially 2 areas:
- moors Darwen - Horwich
- selected patches of moorland W of Haslingden - Ramsbottom
Just seen that the West Pennine Moors have been designated as a SSSI. I know its been on the cards for a while, but its great that it is finally happening. Landowners can still object, and Natural England may choose not to confirm the designation, but it all seems rather positive up to now.
