I prefer the 8x42 in each model due to wider field of view, higher light gathering and easier to hold without shake being magnified. I do have 2 pairs of bins, invaluable if one pair go off for repair without having to visit a shop to get the loan pair (we have loaned pairs too, recently to Austin & David off tese forums ). We also have a Leica In-Store day coming up, 3rd December with Leica experts on hand who will give your bins/scope a health check & clean And do remember we also sponsor these forums so help to keep it all going, and wherever you buy your Leicas then Leica still end up with the money

I have taken my Leica 10x42 BN in for repair, and have been loaned a spare pair of Leica 8x42BN, must admit always used 10x42 for years, but the field of view on the 8x24 is very good, what do others prefer and why, and should we all have a couple of pairs of bins?
The Leica shop in Manchester is well worth a visit, great staff, and always happy to look at special deals.
