There are threads relating to all record submission methods on this very forum Scott, on the 'Greater Manchester needs your bird sightings' sub-forum (RODiS can also be used to record all wildlife) and there are pages dedicated to record submission on the website on the 'Bird Recording and Count Rarities' page.
If you have any other queries regarding RODiS (or any other method of record submission) please direct them straight to Steve Atkins or the 'GM Local Record Centre' user on this forum.

How do I report my sightings on RODIS?

Otters have very large linear areas they roam in. Mink are common on the Irwell but you have seen both and there are singular dated reports further north in Ramsbottom in local press. Report it on RODIS

Nice one Craig, It was definitely an Otter and the first Otter I've ever seen other then the ones at Leighton Moss. I just done a bit of research on internet and they have been seen on Irwell around Ramsbottom area so that's good enough for me.

There have been reports of Otters on the Irwell Scott. Its the same principle with Otters and Mink as it is with rare birds. You'll know when you see one - they are much much bigger than Mink.

I've been working in Bury at Wellington Street right beside the Irwell removing Asbestos from the old paper mills which got demolished quite a few years ago and I am 99% sure I seen a otter early this morning running under a old Victorian culvert on my site, as anybody ever seen an otter on the Irwell? There is definitely Mink on site as I seen one last week but I'm 99% sure this was Otter?
