I have managed to get sand/grit in the eye piece machanism of my Opticron Verano HD binoculars. It's not affecting the optics but you can feel it grinding if adjusting the eye pieces, so for now am not moving it for fear of damaging it, or maybe the sand/grit finding its way into the optics (if that's possible). I bought them a couple of years ago - I don't suppose this kind of thing would be covered in a standard warranty would it? If as I suspect it wouldn't be, does anyone have any idea of a rough cost to expect for this kind of repair/clean?
thanks, chris.

Thanks Doc. Is this the place off the a 49? If so, that is where I bought it originally. I will call down as soon as I can.

If you can get down to us at Focalpoint just off the M56 j10 (WA4 4QW) then we can have a look and advise if the repair is an economical one. If it isn't we will be totally honest & there isn't any charge!! Chances are that it can be repaired, but will have to go away to our repairer, he is probably the best in the UK though so if anyone can fix it, he can!

Does anyone know where I can get a scope repaired. Focus wheel is free spinning and not focusing. Anywhere in Bury or Manchester that could help.
