That's good to know Tony. I am going down there today anyway to do a quick botanical survey and also check the surface. Might just have my bins with me Just In Case :)

Ian, don't worry about the White Bryony, it grows close to Woodcote Stables which is well away from the proposed work.

Good point, I will try to get down soon to map out exactly what's there.

You need to be aware there are one or two fairly rare GM plants in this section namely White bryony (Bryonia alba) so some assessment may be needed.

Mike, I'm sure everyone on the forum will appreciate your consideration in asking too

Hi Mike I'm glad something's being done to improve the Transpennine Trail in that area, it is very overgrown in places. As for the fenced section at the old sewage works, I'd cut it back to the fence as there is plenty of screening vegetation on the inside of the fences either side of the path.

Hi all
In my day-job with Red Rose Forest I am working with Trafford Council to improve the condition of the Transpennine Trail. The section running between the fences at Alty Sewage Works has been identified as being in need of scraping back and having vegetation controlled. We are liaising with UU as landowner but would be interested to know how forum members would view this - should we take it right back to the fence or leave some screening vegetation?
