I have been watching a second female Goosander for a few weeks recently, that I initially saw with 10 young at Bury Sewage works, and then with 8 young intermittently along the Irwell. I saw it again today next to Dumer's Lane Bridge and it now has only 5 young.

We have a Goosander breeding in a nest box for the fifth time, this year fledging 8 young, giving a grand total of 48 overall.
