I remember buying the very first report many years ago from Sherratt & Hughes in Manchester (a name long gone in the bookshop world). It's certainly progressed from then when it was all of 40 pages, no photos and the only illustration was a drawing of a Goldeneye on the front cover. The current report is the best yet - it seems to get better year on year. Some superb photos, the one of the Fieldfare had me green with envy!

Picked up a copy at lunchtime from Marc's Printers and nice to meet Steve Suttill in the process. I thought I was going to get stuck into reading it tonight but Ian had to go and text everyone about the Ring-necked Duck so the report will just have to wait!

Dropped by MARC the printers this lunchtime but Steve you were off today and your colleagues told me they hadn't had any yet. Please advise when they'll be in - saves me postage...cheers Tim

The new 2011 Greater Manchester County Bird Report is out now!
The Report Production Team genuinely appreciates the patience and understanding of county birders in the time it has taken to produce the 2011 County Bird Report. It has taken some considerable time and more considerable effort for the production team to learn from scratch how to construct the entirely new look report from the very ground up and to very importantly also set in place entirely new practical systems for its writing and production. With these now more or less finalised with this 2011 report we hope to make up ground on getting back on track with production of the 2012 and 2013 reports.
Once again though, your patience has been much appreciated and hopefully rewarded with the new team's second report which builds on the improvements in 2011's and for which we have retained the cost to you at only £7 (plus £1.50p postage where applicable); with the report being heavily subsidised by the Greater Manchester Bird Recording Group as thanks to you all and especially those who submit their records to us.
Stocks of the 2011 report are limited this year so please place your order to reserve your copy with me at ianmckerchar1@gmail.com. Copies will also be available at MARC the Printers on Edge Street, Manchester City Centre very soon and also at other locations yet to be confirmed.
Cheques should be made payable to 'Greater Manchester Bird Recording Group' and sent to my home address at 42 Green Avenue, Astley, M29 7EH.
