There is still time to register, teams can be any number of people, the rules are pretty relaxed
Either email: salforddocklands@yahoo.com to register a team, or pop in to the event stall on the day @ the Cafe On The Lake, Moss Farm, Cutnook Lane

Hi James,
Reckon I might have a stab at this. I might be a team of 1 though! Can you register on the day?

Hi Geoff,
The organisational committee for this event have noted your comments, we have been pointing people in the direction of the map on this site with the correct moss names and field numbers for the last couple of weeks and we shall be writing into the Bird Race guidelines a section encouraging people to report sightings using the correct locations through the official channels
The name Salford Mosses is just a collective term for promotion, it's a bit difficult and long-winded getting Chat, Irlam, Barton, Cadishead, Astley East & Little Woolden Moss onto a flyer
Oh yes, some people have been asking, does it cost to register a Bird Race team, the answer is no, all the events are free
OK, now who's up for some birding, a little birds told me there is going to be a Big Moss Bird Race trophy for the winners and that the Chorlton Stripping Grannies might be registering a team

James, doing my best to help herefrom a long time G.M. birder point of view Salford mosses don,t actually exist if your combining a few sites then please list them there,s a wealth of info on the main site and in the county report which defines recognised sites it would be shame to see all the info and effort gathered go to waste. And a few post codes wouldn,t go amiss in the sat nav era.
cheers Geoff(I,ll get my coat)

For the purposes of this event, the Salford Mosses are the mosses that are located within the Salford borough - Chat, Irlam, Barton, Cadishead, Astley East, Little Woolden
But the political boundaries don't matter with this event, the bigger picture is it's all about getting out and enjoying the mosslands whatever they are officially called or whatever you prefer to call them, what's more important is that these habitats are under threat and this event is being organised to promote the mosses and it's precious wildlife, especially to the general public who might never have been to the mosses or have been birding before
We are catering for all levels of birders, therefore we have a Bird Race, Photo Competition, Kids Treasure Hunt, and a Big Moss Mooch (general walkabout with bird identification a central theme)
Everyone welcome
