I have been using up a stock of BTO bird atlas notebooks and have recently switched to using One of those electronic notebooks instead and entering my si.ghtings directly into the Birdtrack app. It is however, too big to fit in a pocket and its difficult to see the screen in anything other than dull conditions. It is however preferably to spending hours transcribing sightings when I get home. There are days however when pen and paper are the best solution and I like the idea of buying refills. I shall definately have have a look at this.

It seems not many people use notebooks anymore, but for those that do....
I've used loads of notebooks over the years, with the old policemans notebook being the one I come back to frequently. But, I've recently discovered the Filofax Flex. It sounds a bit strange, but ive found the pocket size (admittedly its a tiny bit big) a really good notebook. You basically buy separate refills and can mix the refills as you like within the cover. When you fill one up just slide it out and replace with another. Plus there's a mix of refill types, plain, lined etc.
If you still use a notebook it's worth a look because after the initial outlay (you can get one for about £7 on eBay) it's quite cheap to buy refills.
