On my hols currently but had a cracking dream last night about the Lammergeier.
The GM listers were all waiting for the bird to cross the border near Arnfield Reservoir. As it approached the line a mist descended and into it the bird flew.
Much discussion was had about whether it could be counted or not.
Woke up intrigued. Any thoughts? Would it be accepted?

Dreamt I saw a Brambling close up, and today out of a ringers bag at Wooston Eyes popped a Brambling. Freaky.

I hope the Shrike would have a valid ticket.

I've had dreams with birds in them in the past, but the one I have most (at least three or four times a year) is really a recurring nightmare! It's to do with travelling and always revolves around the fact that the moment arrives to leave for the airport (a birding hol of course), and I haven't done any packing and am totally unprepared. General panic and mayhem ensues, after which the dream goes off in all directions. I've had it once this year and no doubt it will surface again before I'm off to Kazakhstan in ten weeks or so. Now, where's that suitcase?

Had a Hoopoe fluttering around my feet - probably coz we're off to Morocco shortly and have been reading various trip reports and studying bird guides. As you say - wishful thinking.

I have quiet a few bird dreams. Most are completely bonkers, but are still bird related.
When I was spending weeks looking for Tawny Owls (my ultimate bogey bird) in France, I had a dream where I found one on the branch right next to me. It looked like a miniature Great Grey Owl and it promptly flew around my head before landing on the ground and camouflaging itself like a nightjar! Needless to say my imagination went wild on the description of the owl, as I've never seen a true Tawny Owl properly.

I sometimes dream of finding a mega rarity on my local patch. It's not come true yet though!

Don't know about anyone else on the Forum, but I regularly dream of birds, especially as Spring arrives and I await the 1st migrants. First one last night involved House Martins buzzing around my house. Seen as I only moved here in Jan, it may be true. Only a few months until I find out. Anyone else care to share their birdwatching dreams?
