Two pairs of Moorhen with four young each on Islington Wharf this morning, Mute Swan still sitting on eggs, three Sand Martin flying around calling too and the bushes on the west side held noisy Long-tailed Tits.

Canada Goose - 80+ Mallard - c20 Moorhen - 1 Lesser Black-backed and Black-headed Gulls - a few of each Jay - 1

5 Cormorant circling the marina and canal area at New Islington this morning. One looked as if it landed on the canal.

2 Peregrines seen from bus stop outside Central Retail Park at about 1455. Both birds flew towards the Ibis Hotel, but one returned flying back towards the city centre. My thoughts are they were probably the city centre birds.

3 Mute Swan including 1 juv on the canal at New Islington late afternoon today. Apparently these birds bred in this area this year
