Afternoon visit, a walk down the canal towpath

Kestrel near motorway
Mixed flock of winter thrushes and Starlings, contained approximately 20 Starling, 50 Redwing and three Fieldfare
At least 15 Blackbird in the area
3 Greenfinch
2 Bullfinch
4 Moorhen, 2 on canal and 2 on field
c100 Woodpigeon flushed when a bird scarer went off
2 Jay
8 Long-tailed Tit

A pleasant couple of hours today along the canal

At least 7 Jay in the general area
7 Swallow
2 House Martin
Mixed flock with 4 Blue Tit, 6 Long-tailed Tit, 2 Blackcap and 2 Greenfinch
Chaffinch
Bullfinch (heard only)
Flock of 15 Long-tailed Tit
Song Thrush
Coal Tit
Chiffchaff singing near Daisy Nook Garden Centre
4 Moorhen seen on the canal, but several more were heard

A quiet couple of hours along the canal this afternoon

9 Fieldfare milling around for a while
15 Blackbird
1 Goldcrest
1 male Bullfinch
2 Greenfinch
2 Redpoll over
4 Moorhen
2 Mallard

I visited this site yesterday afternoon.

I spent an hour or so mooching around the LNR where the birds were as I expected and included;

Pheasant
Coal Tit
Long Tailed Tit
Great Tit

Robin

A half hour or so on the moss

19 Canada Geese
5 Mallard
1 Song Thrush
4 Mistle Thrush
5 Starling
1 Grey Heron
8 Goldfinch mobbing a male Sparrowhawk
1 Grey Wagtail
2 Lesser Redpoll
Dunnock
