RSPB Big Garden birdwatch 25/1/15 14.45-15.45 (2nd attempt due to noisy footballers earlier, though still disruption from a bonfire)
2 blackbirds 2 collard doves 8 house sparrows 2 dunnocks 2 great tits 2 blue tits 2 wood pigeons 1 long tailed tit 2 goldfinch 2 robins 1 magpie

Big Garden birdwatch down the allotment 2 woodpigeon 4 blackbirds 24 house sparrows 2 robin 1 dunnock 5 great tits (2 very very mucky! I have never seen 2 birds so covered in mud) 1 starling 2 blue tits 1 long tailed tit 2 collared doves 3 goldfinch 1 wren 5 magpies 1 mistle thrush
overhead 1 lapwing & 2 cormorant!
& my 5 year old son correctly recognised every bird he saw

Had a request to have a topic to cover our allotments in Audenshaw, off Mount Pleasant Street plus also cover the field (lots of walkers out there). I know several plot holders feed the birds and have nest boxes. Be interesting to see what we do get in this patch. Regards Rachael
