Delph village. Park in the village and access the River Tame near the Fish and Chip shop. Dippers are commonplace within 100 yards whether you walk upstream or downstream.

I went to Burrs Country Park in Bury today Joe, and the Dippers here were fantastic. I'm sure there a lots of places here you can get down to water level to get one of your famous eye-level shots, especially up near the weir. Quite a good place to photograph a Kingfisher too.

Parts of Bradshaw Brook in Seven Acres Country Park are level and often has Dippers on view. Located on Bury Road, Bolton next to Lancs Wildlife trust building. Follow river north towards Thicketford Road.

Maybe on the weir at Etherow CP
Outside the county Bolton Abbey near Skipton - there seemed to be a pair of Dippers every few hundred yards.

When the river is lowish, there is often a dipper/dippers at the confluence of Poise Brook and the river Goyt in Offerton, Stockport. Walk down Holiday Lane, and follow the brook until it ends. There is a nice sandy bit to sit on/ set camera up. Also Goosander, Grey Wagtail, Mandarin and Kingfisher if you are lucky.

Hi Mike, I am looking to do photography, you guess right! Probably a wee bit too far for me, but certainly worth bearing in mind if i'm up that way anyway! Many thanks, Jor

Hi Joe, Sorry about this, but a perfect place for great "horizontal"views of Dippers is on the R. Wear between Frosterley and Wolsingham; - the bad news is that it's up here in inland Co. Durham.
The Dippers are around in really good numbers this year, with singing and displaying males wing shivering and "sky pointing."
Presumably you're looking for good photo opportunities?
Cheers, Mike P.

An odd one this! Does anyone know anywhere dippers can be observed from a path running along side the river and on level with the river, and isn't elevated above the river so as you're looking down on the bird? If anyone know such a place could they PM me? I'm not bothered about distances too much, just in the north west is enough! Many thanks, Joe
