Unfortunately I have a Nikon D90 which doesn't have micro-adjustment. However, there are places on the web that show how to make focussing adjustments on a D90 using Allen keys inside the camera body, but that's a job for experts not me! After doing a quick test it seems my camera might have a slight back focus problem, but I'm not entirely sure how accurate my testing was.
more likely the sigma lens than the camera,i have to set my fine focus back to the max 20 with my sigma 150-500 but zero with the nikon 300f4,so its the lens ,not the camera i recon

I agree with John, just micro-adjusted my 400mm f5.6 lens using the 50D, worked fine and now pin-sharp at f5.6. I don't know whether you can micro-adjust on your model but if you can it saves money in calibration!

In my oppinion there is no-one who will /can calibrate the sigma lens with the Nikon Camera,If you have the same combination you had the last time i saw you,in high end cameras the focus fine tune can help,but with a zoom lens its almost impossible as when they get it right at the long end 500mm,it throws it out at the short end 50mm. They would only be stealing your money,sigma will calibrate the lens,and nikon the camera ,but as a combination it can't be done,alls would happen is they would service your lens and camera,and the end result will be the same. cheers John

Does anyone know a person or place in the North West that will check out a camera and lens combination for you at a reasonable (cheap) cost? I'd either like my camera and lens to be confirmed as working as well as can be expected for the make and model or to have it calibrated so that it is.
I know it can be done by the manufacturers at quite a high cost, but they are unlikely to calibrate a set up with two different makes of equipment (e.g. Nikon and Sigma). Anyway, I can't really afford those prices!
